Viewing Online Concerts
Tips for the best viewing experience
1-Accessing the concert:
- The link to your concert appears as a blue rectangle in your confirmation email.
- Each link may be used to access the video on only one device at a time.
- The concert video will be available on demand for 11 days, typically beginning the Saturday after the in-person concert weekend.
2-For best audio & video quality
- 3 buttons on the bottom right of the screen control your video.
- Internet speed should be at least 5 Mbps. Test speed here >>
- Use good external speakers or headphones for the best sound. And make sure your sound is turned on!
- Want to watch on the big screen? The most reliable way is to simply connect your device and TV with a high speed HDMI cable (you may need an adapter). Or, read below to learn how to mirror video to your TV.
3-Supported Browsers
The following browsers are officially supported in the Virtual Events Player Page:
- Chrome for Android 34+
- Chrome for Desktop 34+
- Firefox for Android 41+
- Firefox for Desktop 42+
- Edge for Windows 10+
- Safari for Mac 8+ (beta)
While other modern browsers will likely work, they are not guaranteed.
Note: some people have trouble opening Zoom links with Safari. If a Piffaro Livestream Event is hosted on Zoom, patrons using Safari will see a note suggesting they try a different browser if they’re unable to open the link. The event should run properly in a different browser, such as Chrome.
Streaming Video to your TV
We at Piffaro are so excited to have you join us for our upcoming concerts! We hope some of the following information will help you to stream your concerts on your TV.
Of course, streaming video to television is still not as simple as we would like: part of this is the vast array of different TVs and phone models available today, each with different capabilities. We can’t cover all of them, but we are happy to point you to some articles that give good basic instructions and suggestions.
All of our instructions involve connecting your smartphone to your TV: if you intend to use your laptop, it is usually much easier to connect using a cable like this HDMI cable available from Monoprice.com.
iPhone
Apple has a great built-in app called AirPlay that allows you to stream to compatible devices including AppleTV and many newer smart TVs. Here are instructions for using AirPlay. Keep in mind that AiurPlay requires an iPhone 7 or newer model. We have a list of compatible TVs here.
The basics for AirPlay are:
- Make sure both your iPhone and your TV are using the same Wi-Fi network
- Look for and tap the AirPlay button . (In some cases you may need to tap the Share button first
AdroidAndroid has a wide array of apps to support mirroring video to a smart TV. Mirroring is available with Android 5 and above. We have updated instructions here.
The basics are similar:
- Make sure both your Android phone and your TV are using the same Wi-Fi network
- Enable screen mirroring on both the phone and the TV (the term may differ from device to device: we will use “mirroring” throughout)
- Search for the TV on your Android phone and connect to the device
As a test, you can use this Piffaro video to test your streaming
Feel free to reach out if you have any issues, and we will endeavor to help you solve them.
Again, we are delighted to have you join us virtually!
